Lazy Saturday

Yesterday we decided to take a little break from house projects and head out for some relaxation. (we're currently painting a bunch of furniture and then started the master bathroom cabinets in an attempt to not waste paint-- the furniture and the cabinets are using the same paint. I'm covered in little black specks of paint and when you walk into our house the subtle aroma of oil based paint greets you. Oh well just a couple more weeks-- we hope.)
We headed north to Guadalupe State park and while it wasn't as hot as it could have been-- only upper 70s but with a good breeze, we planned on just throwing some rocks in the river. Henry of course ended up soaked and since the river was full of kids swimming and tubing we couldn't really complain. And it was a glorious day. I wish the colors in the pictures had turned out better since the sky was an amazing shade of blue. Dell taught me some tricks that finally got me skipping a rock more than two skips-- I even got up to seven-- and the whole family had a great time throwing rocks.

Now doesn't he looked relaxed?

Throwing rocks

Henry throws rocks with gusto. This picture shows part of his usual form-- a little jump at the beginning of the throw and a lot of jumping after the throw in honor of the joy of it all. I don't think I've ever seen Henry get tired of throwing rocks. He can throw rocks for longer than he can watch TV. :)
